Handcrafted in collaboration with local artisans in Ghana, particularly in and around Accra, our jewelry is brought to life through the expertise of metalworkers who skillfully shape each design and glass bead makers and traders who provide us with unique and vintage recycled Ghanaian glass beads.

Our artisans have the opportunity to refine and showcase their skills, working closely with Aketekete’s team, who oversees the design and hand-beading of every piece. Together, we create thoughtful statement jewelry, blending traditional materials and techniques with contemporary design.

Each piece of jewelry takes between 2 to 4 days to complete, undergoing multiple intricate steps—from sourcing or creating recycled glass beads to forming and shaping the metalwork, and finally, to meticulous hand-beading and finishing touches.
